Pain Free Dental Marketing Volunteers with Operation Christmas Child for Sixth Year
That’s a wrap! The team at Pain-Free Dental marketing just completed our sixth time volunteering at Operation Christmas Child, an event from the nonprofit Samaritan’s Purse. Our team gathered with friends, family, partners, and clients to put together 272 gift boxes for children around the world this year.
What is Operation Christmas Child?
Operation Christmas Child works with local partners to fill shoeboxes with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. The organization ships these simple but impactful gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
Pain-Free hosted a “packing party” where we packed gift boxes. We purchased the items we packed as a team, individually, or using donations from partners, family, and friends.
A Pain Free Dental Marketing Tradition
Pain-Free founder Andre Santos brought his own family tradition to the company.
“Operation Christmas Child came into my life sort of by accident,” Andre shared. “A friend of mine told me about the shoeboxes. I watched this video and I was really touched by the concept that a simple shoebox, and something so small to us like a bar of soap, could make such a big impact in someone’s life.
I’m a parent myself. The idea of helping children all over the world felt like the right opportunity for our family to give back. Our family started by packing six boxes ourselves at home. (We made boxes for one boy and one girl of each age group). We put a note in each sending them our love and letting them know someone out there cares for and believes in them. In each box, we included a photo of our family.
The next year we invited a few friends over to our house to participate. Each year since it has grown a bit more.
My favorite parts are shopping for the items and imagining the child’s reaction as they open and see each item for the first time. I think about the smile on their faces and the feeling in their hearts. I also enjoy packing a few boxes together as a family during the event and pouring a ton of love into whoever receives that box.”
Thank you to our partners!
This year, we donations and participation from clients and partners. Shout out to Maven Financial Partners, Patterson Dental, and Dr. Hong at Clear Smiles Kids & Teens. We couldn’t have done it without you!
